”Let me reiterate, i’m the highest selling Cameroonian artist that’s why i’m the only one who comes online to post my sales stats. I’m the only one who still sells albums around here” –Jovi
During one of his unprecedented live sessions on May 28, 2025, in which he called on fellow Anglophone Cameroonians to unite and stand against segregation, the leading Cameroonian rapper also reminded music lovers that he is currently the highest-selling artist in the country based on total album sales.
“We are all Cameroonians and you people are stuck with me here. When you try to spit on my efforts of trying to encourage young artists that they can also produce albums, sell them and make direct sales, it doesn’t make you look good.” he added
He went further to remind his followers that no matter what they do, they’re all Cameroonians and nobody will come and save them.”
“You’re stuck here with me. we’re all Cameroonians and no Nigerian artist is coming to save you. Bringing me down is also bringing Cameroon down, and there’s a way people look at people like that” – The mboko god highlighted.
Jovi criticized his fellow Anglophones who fuel the ongoing dispute between the North Westerners and South Westerners, calling it an irresponsible mindset that not only make foreigners laugh at the Anglophones, but also weakens the solidarity Anglophones should be building as a minority group in the country.
Additionally, he emphasized that before comparing him to other artists, one should first consider how many of them owe their livelihood to the opportunities he created.
After releasing his latest album, 2035, he revealed that he sold 3,000 copies at 25,000 CFA each, brining in around 75,000,000 CFA, just from album sales alone, not including streams or other revenue.
