According to Forbes, Kanye whose net worth in 2019 was estimated at approx $800 million, made it to the billionaires club alongside his homie Jay-Z.
Kanye whose apparel brand called YEEZY helped the rapper turned entrepreneur joined the billionaires club. The sales of his sneaker line has been selling so well that, according to Forbes, it threatens to beat Nike Air Jordan’s. Kanye who signed a deal with Adidas to market and distribute the foot wear reportedly makes about 11% off the profits.
Forbes announced that Kanye’s net worth was estimated to be approx. $1.3 billion, to which he responded in a text to the Editor at Forbes,
It’s not a billion,” West texted us last night. “It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”
Kanye really has no filter at all.
Either way, he joined the billionaire club and surpassed his wife’s little sister Kylie Jenner who made headline news in 2019 as he made it to the club with a new worth of a little over $1 billion. There are really levels to this billionaire game. Although we applaud Kanye for his achievement, note that there are many other entrepreneurs worth 20 times more. For a black man who sings hip-hop to come this far, speaks volumes.
