Kassav’s Co-founder Jacob Desvarieux Dead At 65

The world of Zouk music has lost a major player in this genre of music. For those who are familiar with Zouk music, there is no way you wouldn’t know about the music band group called Kassav.

Kassav’s Jacob Desvarieux, has been reported to have passed away at the University Hospital of Abymes in Guadeloupe on Friday July 30, 2021. According to media reports from the island of Martinique and Guadeloupe, Jacob Desvarieux The co-founder of Kassav was hospitalized and placed in a medically-induced coma earlier this month. He later passed away from complications of COVID-19.

Kassav recently celebrated their biggest milestone to date, their 40th anniversary in 2019-2020 accompanied by numerous sold out tours worldwide.
