Social Media has been on fire especially from the South African corner, with viral hit makers: Master KG SA Music and Nomcebo Zikode all going at each other over royalties of their hit song ‘Jerusalem’.
On Sunday July 11, 2021, Nomcebo who featured in Jerusalem, a song that currently stands at over 450 million YouTube views, revealed to the media that she hadn’t received any payments for featuring in Master KG’s song despite the song’s undeniable global success! She reports that not only has she not received any cent from her feature but has been continually ridiculed by the label before her demands.
On the other hand, Master KG denounced such rumors on Twitter by saying the label had given R1.5 million to Nomcebo despite her not adhering to the agreement before the success of the song. Master KG revealed that before the collabo, they had agreed to share a 50/50 percentage of the song but Nomcebo is demanding more money (70%) which is contrary to their agreement.
Today, Master KG and his record label sent out a press release, insinuating that no money had been paid to Nomcebo contrary to Master KG’s earlier claim of giving Nomcebo a sum of R1.5 million. The press release also emphasizes that the only reason why she hasn’t been paid royalties from the song is simply that both parties have still not come to a compromise!
