The main point above it all is that his financial breakthrough came from the Francophone region and this is when for commercial reasons, he needed to adapt to the Franco-Anglais strategy for a much wider reach, given that the English speaking people of Cameroon strictly makes up only 20% of the country’s population and who at the time did not even use to buy music or pay for shows. The narrative is gradually changing over the years as this side of the country is beginning to embrace the show business culture even the more.
Mr. Leo fumed at some point as he wondered why only Anglophones always complain about them singing in French but don’t complain when artists like Locko who are of the Francophone background sing in English?
Away from the above, he revealed a few hit songs in the industry that he’s been directly involved in writing them. Some of the few songs he enlisted include : Calée, Promet Moi, Doucement by Daphne and Anita which he had cowritten with Salatiel. He also revealed that “Supporter” featuring Locko was written by himself just to name a few.
Mr Leo has a 13 track album which portrayed the love religion that has been preached by him over the years. However, growth and Grammy award aspirations are taking him to another version, which is the Lion of Africa album confirmed to be dropping in the weeks or months ahead! Since adopting the responsibility as the Lion of Africa, he has been undergoing some lyrical metamorphism and the Grammy could come sooner than expected.
On why he created his record label Lionn Productions, he reiterates that it’s more of a legacy thing than just commercial. He’s out for mentorship to mentor and help others even though the “stubbornness” by the artists is breaking sometimes. However, he understands that everyone has their path and is patient to some extend
