Nigerian Actress Funke Akundle was fined for celebration husband’s birthday in her home during lockdown. The actress and her husband were arrested and taken to Samuel Ilori Courthouse by the police on April 5 as reported by the media.
The prominent actress has been blasted for celebrating husband‘s birthday in Lagos, Nigeria, during lockdown, with over 25 people as it is against the law as earlier stipulated by the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The Nigerian actress who has made a respectable name for herself and whose talent is known all over Africa, celebrated her husband’s birthday over the weekend in her mansion in Lagos with some big names in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Some of the VIP invitees were singer Naira Marley and actress Badmus Eniola to name a few.
Akindele appeared in court with husband as she defended Saturday’s party by saying that everyone who was there had been living in her house for several days.

Say’s the actress in a video shared on her Twitter feed. However, she did apologize and promised to practise social distancing.
Those seen in the video include singer Naira Marley and actress Eniola Badmus, and some Nigerians have questioned whether they have been living with Akindele and her husband. According to confirmed reports, the actress has been fined $260 USD and artist Naira Marley is currently under police custody. The names of every party attendee were taken by the authorities for further legal action.
It is important to note that prior to her arrest, Akindele apologized (as seen in a video which she posted on her Instagram page), to everyone who was offended by her action.
The Nigerian government has so far reported 232 Coronavirus cases, recording five deaths with 33 having been discharged from the isolation center.
