At the time the Calée video was released in 2017, Daphne could not boast of having up to 45K followers and in only two years, she drastically gained approximately 955,000+ followers greatly beating and leaving behind artists like Stanley Enow and Reniss who at the time had many more Instagram followers at the time. You see, back in February/March 2017, Stanley and I had over 80K Instagram followers so he was ahead of Daphne by a good 40K+ or so. Also in February/March 2017, New Bell Music’s leading female artist Reniss had approximately 90K-100K followers! Now, Daphne has surpassed them by over 700,000 followers!!!
Ever since Thursday, April 18th, we’ve been closely watching Daphne’s Instagram page when we noticed she was in the 990K+ range and on Thursday April 18th, she had 991K followers and by Sunday April 21st she had reached 999K followers.
The reason we are excited about this is simply because this is huge for Daphne ans for Cameroonian music industry (they might not see its advantage now but trust me this is huge) as Cameroon can now boast of having their own artist with one million followers which can motivate other Cameroonian artists who come in contact with Daphne knowing they can get there too someday.

Additionally, the rate at which she is growing her fan base, she will soon be able to boast of having similar number of followers as other major key players and well known African celebrities who are like the face of African entertainment, such as:Toke Makinwa, Bonang Matheba, Flavour, even Yemi Aladdin, actress Omotola, D’banj to name a few.
As we already know, the higher an artists number of followers on social media, in addition to obviously having a good music career, the more respect you gain from the industry as they look at these things very keenly and will also attract brands to come to you to market their products and do ads! So Daphne if you or your team member are reading this, use your high following numbers to monetize. Let Instagram work for you while you’re on tour or asleep. There is lots of money to be made.
