Yesterday, Cameroonian Femcee ASKIA signed out from the month of June in a memorable fashion when she rallied a remarkable crowd of Cameroonian artists during the launch of her latest business line. The new business line which she named Qwin Mentality is a perfume brand where “Qwin” is a female fragrance which she designed just for females being that she considers every woman a queen (Qwin) and Mentality, a fragrance uniquely for men.
The brand was launched last night at Top Rank Plaza, Bonaberi in Douala, Cameroon. The event which was set for 7 PM Central African Time (CAT), started extremely later than expected (which is often a usual tradition for Cameroonian shows and events), despite the venue being set up at the designated time. Fans and lovers of entertainment with other artists inclusive, had to wait for a longer time to be ushered to their seats. Even so, everyone was still motivated to witness the package Askia had planned to unveil for her fans, supporters and friends.
The show started at about 11PM with an intrinsic introduction by Nabil Fongod who didnt disappoint with the energy he brought along to take away the tiredness that had engraved early comers. It must be remembered that the artist who kicked off the Show last night had a good spirit that contaminated other artists to pull through with crazy performances.
High performers of the night in the domain of young male uprising artists who didn’t hesitate to snatch their opportunities respectively were #PeleKing, D’Slyk Official , Remiiofficial , Torch City Music – TCT Sublymme etc. One artist who cheered the crowd effectively and brought in some desired energy was none other but Freeboi Lama an artist under Beard Gang Music of Askia’s husband Rhyme Qilla . Freeboi understood exactly what the night meant to Askia and did justice to stirring the crowd.
Further away from the male artists, Rinyu & Asaba Official who were none hip hop artists were on fire as the spiced the rap atmosphere with thier juicy voices. Their effortless performances coupled with their ability to drive attendants to purchase the Perfumes was an impressive gesture. Asaba who had had rough experiences with Askia in the past did express her gratitude and love for Askia. These artists set their differences aside and you wouldn’t believe the love that was in the room last night!
ANKIA kellie , Melinda Swan and #IHims were also in their mood and boy, they spilled venom.
Industry kings like Blaise B and Mic Monsta Official were of course the experience needed to keep the late night show rolling. Blaise who has been very supportive to Askia was there all night to drive sales of the Perfumes which did the magic. The night was rounded up by Askia herself and there is no reason why she wouldn’t go back to her home a happy woman.
Observations !!
What we observed yesterday is that Cameronian lovers of entertainment are stepping up their support level. They came out in their number and cheered the whole show. It’s unclear if it was so because it was Askia but the support that the unpopular artists received, showed that it was far beyond just support for Askia.
D’slyk, Pele King and Remii in our opinion were owners of the night. The fans could not resist their energy on stage. Above all, it was a good business outing for Askia and Top Rank Plaza. The DJs did their homework properly as they were not even on an 80/20 but at 100% Cameroonian content. For the first time in a while, we could spend over eight (8) hours listening to only Cameronian music.
One thing is certain that Askia has and is setting the pace and changing the narrative for other female artists by empowering them with entrepreneurial ideas. Besides it’s late start, the show was a success and Askia can be confirmed an active multi creative entrepreneur.
