Although other African countries such as South Africa, Egypt and Algeria assemble smartphones, they all import components to assemble the phones. However, the Mara phones are produced and assembled in Rwanda. This opening of this factory will make Rwanda even more of a technology and innovation hub and will provide jobs for hundreds of people which is always a good thing.
