Four times African player of the year and Cameroonian born, former indomitable lions’ captain, Samuel Eto’o, will return to school to further his education in Business Management, in America’s prestigious Ivy League university, Harvard.
After putting an end to his football career in September 2019, and starting his betting company, Cameroon and Africa’s best player of all times has said he will be going back to school after what could be termed a flawless football career. Samuel Eto’o has played for some of the worlds top football clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Sampdoria as well as Mallorca. With the above listed teams, Eto’o achieved what has still not been achieved by any African in the game of football.

The former Indomitable Lion’s captain and all time African highest goal scorer, won three UEFA Champions League Trophies, two with FC Barcelona and one with Inter Milan just to name a few. The African footballer and Cameroons’s finest, won an Olympic trophy and two African Cups of Nation trophies with his country, making him the most decorated player to ever play for Cameroon in particular and Africa in general.
Samuel Eto’o after putting an end to his football career at the age of 38 is set to follow another path away from football which is going back to school. This makes him the second renowned African footballer after to go back to school after a breath taking career. He joins former Liberian footballer, George Weah, who became president for his country on January 22, 2018. He furthered his studies after putting an end to his football career at 41.

Eto’o’s decision to return to school was made public by the man himself during an interview with Jeune Afrique Magazine. During his playing career, Eto’o had always said he would love to be the first black to coach a major European football team, but that seems to be changing as he is fully focused on getting more education.
The Cameroonian international intends to lead his generation by example and not limiting himself to his sumptuous net worth amassed from his football career and other businesses.
