Senegal’s Lions of Teranga wins its first ever African Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in the tournaments 65-year history with a 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory over seven-time winners Egypt. Senegal’s win marked a turning point in Aliou Cisse, won his first AFCON as coach to Senegal’s national soccer team, the Lions of Teranga.
The final game was played in Yaounde, Cameroon’s capital city where many Cameroonians celebrated Senegals win.
