It’s much understandable that if a house is burning, everyone would feel the heat but trying to attack the label for pushing Kameni who has been more financially productive is an insane argument or accusation.
We are very much convinced that there were behavioral issues as well as ego issues that might have let to the premature exit of Gomez, but the good news to take home is that the label is letting him go in good faith and are promising to still support the artist despite parting ways.
Now, instead of trying to fuel controversy around his exit, it is better that the energy be channeled towards supporting his upcoming EP and wishing him a good career ahead. Everyone can move to the other side to be better. Mr. Leo did, other artists have done the same and in as much as the grass wasn’t greener for many on the other side, it doesn’t mean it won’t be to be for Gomez.
Be mindful that Gomez loved his stay with the label. He might not have been satisfied at the overall outcome from a career perspective, but he knows that his close relationship with his boss (or should we say former boss) might have rendered him more comfortable and less committed, which is not always good for business. Does his move seem premature? Yes! But then it might just be what he needs to take him to the next level. He is one of the most talented in this industry. Do copy that. But let’s not pour water on horses back and not expect it to shake it off.
