In an official Press Release made public today, Cameroon’s music powerhouse announced it was parting ways with Shura whose real names are Shura Tiana Fru as the singer is no longer signed to them.
No explanation has been provided as to why have separated, however we can only speculate that maybe her contract might be up given that she joined the Steven’s family in 2016. The average time an artist is signed under a label is approximately five years, so our speculation might be valid.
During her time with the label, Shura diversified her art by transforming her sound from neosoul to a afropop with her biggest hit hit song Allez Dire.
Lately, she has been seen lately doing a lot of outreach in the community, standing up for women’s rights and violence and has been rocking a clothing brand. Was this her preparing to exit and setting a path for herself knowing her time was coming to an end?
Good luck to the singer and with a voice like hers all eyes should be on Shura in the years to come.
