The Nigerian entertainment industry has been heating up for days now with mouth watering happenings. The one that has actually caught the attention of everyone is the ongoing Cynthia Morgan saga. Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan, popularly known by her previous stage name Cynthia Morgan, now Madrina, is Nigerian composer, songwriter, dancehall artist and rapper.
The “German Juice” as many know her as, has been crowned by many who value her work as queen of African dancehall but she’s facing the biggest challenges of her career so far after falling out with the label Northside Entertainment which she was signed to, owned by Jude Okoye, the elder brother of former duo P-Square who dissolved their group P-Square and all went as independent artists after over 20 years due to persistent internal problems.
Cynthia Morgan has revealed that she broke up with the label due to unfavorable contract terms and this breakup has caused her, her stage name – Cynthia Morgan which she took several years of hard work to build. While exiting the label, her boss Jude Okoye shockingly claimed her stage name as he took control of the Nigerian Singer’s social media handles revealing that leaving his label means automatically losing the rights to use – Cynthia Morgan.
This therefore means starting all over for Cynthia Morgan, who has been getting a tap on the back from fellow artists and fans/supporters. She’s left with no choice as she dumped Cynthia Morgan and adopted Madrina as new stage name. She had to create new social media handles with Madrina.
As she’s been getting all the support from fans, the one that caught our attention most is Mr P (Peter Okoye), the younger brother of Madrina’s boss who also acted as his manager when Peter was still with his identical twin brother Paul Okoye, as P-Square. His relationship with both brothers went south and many suggested that he was the cause, but he has for over three years maintained his stand as he insists that he was exploited and lacked freedom.
In 2017, P-Square broke up and both artists went their separate ways, with Paul adopting RudeBoy as new stage name, while Peter adopted Mr P as his new stage name. During the twin brother’s fall out, their older brother, Jude, took Paul’s side, leaving Mr P all by himself. In response to Cynthia’s situation, Mr P made some controversial tweets urging Cynthia to be strong on May 24,2020, he tweeted:
And people thought I was stupid when I made the right decision. My dear Morgan, it is never too late to be what you might have been…”

He continued by saying that his decision to part ways with his brothers three years ago was not for money or fame, but for freedom. He also added that Cynthia Morgan had rejected the contract he offered her just but they made him to look like the “bad egg”.He has however encouraged her to stay strong and never give up.
Madrina is currently working on a new project with Davido which will be dropping any moment from now. ‘‘I should sue Jude Okoye if he said I owed him. It means he didn’t do his job well”, the singer said after Jude Okoye’s comments on Instagram two days ago.
