The black gospel has done beyond amazing work in spreading the word of the Lord in the gospel community than we can imagine and when you want to accord respect and admiration for this, the people who come to mind will be people like Whitney Houston.
Though she’s gone, never will the world and gospel community forget her impact. Popularly known as “The Voice”, the late American singer is regarded as the most successful and most influential vocalist of all times.
Born on August 9, 1963, Whitney had an enviable career before passing away on February 12, 2012. In 1985, Houston released her self-titled debut album. Her discography consists of seven studio albums, six compilations, two soundtrack albums, five box sets, six extended plays, and 57 singles.
She is estimated to have sold approximately 170 million to 200 million records and was the first black with artist with three diamond albums according to Sony Music. We can go on and on as her accolades never seem to end. That is how commercially successful and viable the late singer was. No gospel singer comes close to Houston success level.
