THE QUESTION RIHANNA ASKED AYRA STARR THAT MANY DIDN’T PAY ATTENTION TO
Billionaire singer and Fenty CEO Rihanna, linked up with Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr in London earlier this week at the FENTY and PUMA Creeper Phatty Earth Tone Launch party. Their meet-up has created a frenzy of excitement amongst fans.
Their link up is one of those, that the entertainment industry has been buzzing about as the singers shared a detailed moment together. Starr is signed to Mavin Records.
Rihanna told Ayra Starr, that her cousin has been playing her songs to her all the time which is how she discovered the Mavin Records singer. Rihanna confessed that she loves Ayra’s songs and wouldn’t mind doing one with her.
She further asked Ayra Starr, whether she had already done a song with fellow compatriot – Tems, but Ayra said not yet. She revealed that she and Tems are considering a collaboration. They’ve been seen together a couple of times since the beginning of the year, and Riri might just have rushed this collaboration for fans with her inquisition.
The “Umbrella” singer then told the “Rush” singer that they shouldn’t hesitate to call her for a verse if she and Tems consider doing a collaboration.
Recall that Rihanna had already worked with Tems. Tems wrote “Lift Me up”, the soundtrack for the movie Black Panther. It should be noted that this song was Rihanna’s first song coming back to the industry after being away for six years . She did appreciate Tems’ song writing prowess.
It would be an incredible gesture for Rihanna to jump on a song that features the two hottest African girls on the global music stage at the moment: Tems and Ayra.
Top Nigerian singers like Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Burna Boy, have all been doing the most for Afrobeats, but the job female artists like Tems and Ayra Starr have been doing can’t be underestimated.
