A few weeks a go, we saw pictures of Coolkid Berka together with other top celebrities around the country, who all came out to support the rapper on his return, but where was he?
Now, for many of us who don’t know Coolkid, it is good to know that he rose to prominence in November 2015 with his hit song “Seriously” featuring Beat Baller.

Apart from artists like Jovi, Stanley Enow, Franko, Minks’, Dr. Sley , Reniss and a few others in this generation, COOLKID was amongst those who made us believe that was a future in 237 music. Coolkid portrays a lot of there similarities in his art that make you remember artists like Soulja Boy. In Cameroon, he has his unique rap style which he still sticks to. After “Seriously”, Coolkid would disappear amd has now returned in 2020. Don’t know if he took a musical break after his promising “Seriously” song, but here we are again.
His return, comes with so much rebranding. He’s currently signed to one of the biggest labels in the country Steven’s Music Entertainment LLC – a label that harbours some of the country’s amazing talents like Daphne, Ewube, Shura, M’pro, Boy Tag. The fact that the label immediately disbursed huge funds to bring Kid back to the spotlight shows how much faith they still have in him, but they will have to be patient with Kid, because it’s been five years and the narrative has so much changed the music scene but we trust Steven’s to predict a brighter future for talents. It’s almost like starting all over or afresh for kid, but if you missed his style, you can be rest assured that he didn’t bring back seriously, but he brought back a new flame but with the same style.
But Kid you just leave your audience and come back like that without telling them where you went and why you took a pause like seriously? Well, we can only welcome him back and wish for the best, but seriously Kid, we are praying for consistency because we trust your art.
