It is very disgusting and uncontrollably aching to find a group of men trying to justify why rape must exist. There are several ladies living a life they didn’t envisage because they were sexually harassed while they were tender and they simply can’t let go of such memories. Some have been sexually abused even as adults and whether they dressed half naked or not shouldn’t be an excuse as to why a man should willfully harass a woman talk more sexually.
I strongly understand that most societies promoted and favored masculinity to the extend that rape cases are blamed on women and suddenly became normal, but the fact that a women can’t decide who or not to have sex with is a call for concern. I guess it’s even easier to handle when you don’t even know who sexually abused you but what about someone you know did it? Some face you’ll keep on seeing till you die? We are talking reoccurrence of forceful sexual images and scary hallucinations, but we can’t know because we haven’t been in this position before.
With all this, there is a group of people especially men who undermine the pain of a sexually harassed women especially women in showbiz as they believe these are narratives to get attention, buzz and clout and these are one of those reasons why some women have lived the rest of their lives in fear and depression, because no one will believe them if they said the truth. I can recall a little friend who was raped by her uncle and when she tried confessing/opening up to her father, the latter rather beat her up and questioned what she was doing with the so-called uncle and the case died down.
ASKIA and Daphne have been courageous enough to open up about their past, what they have gone through, and since its social media where every opinion is valid in comment sections, a group of men and women call these confessions showbiz stunts, in tend, undermining the courage gathered by these ladies to speak out after several years of staying silent. Instead of encouraging them to inspire other young ladies to speak out, we choose to discourage and neglect their trauma. We have to learn to say “No To Rape” and encourage these women who have nursed the courage to speak out and motivate or encourage other young women who could just change at the hearing or their story.
We have to stop undermine pain and Say NO TO RAPE. Watch this video: https://bit.ly/36dHePr
