The HotJem shared the video on it’s Facebook and Instagram pages and received hundreds of comments. Based on the comments, it can be concluded that majority of those who commented were Africans who support the fathers actions. Many who commented thought the father let his son comes off easy, as many indicated that they would have taken much harsher measures towards the son than the father did as seen in the video.
