Did you know that Californian Chanel Tapper holds the record for the woman with the Longest Tongue in the World.
In 2010, then California student Chanel Tapper was rewarded by Guiness World Records as was confirmed to have a 9.75 cm / 3.8 inch long tongue. That’s the longest tongue by any woman according to Guiness Record.
A 1967 study by GB Hopkin at the Orthodontic department of the University of Edinburgh’s dental school found an adult’s mean average tongue length, measured this way, is 8.5cm (3.3in) for men and 7.9cm (3.1in) for women.
Like the saying goes that “there is an exception to every rule”, The above study has however been challenged by Tapper’s 2010 record with a tongue of 9.75 cm /3.8. Learning they say never ends!
