Welcome yet to another edition of “What you didn’t know”. Another opportunity for you to be WOW’ed!
This one might sound funny and at the same time confusing, but did you know that in the 16th Century, Turkish women could initiate a divorce if their husbands didn’t pour coffee for them?
It is no surprise that Turkish women are beautiful, but what might surprise you is the fact that in the 16th Century, most Arabic women could initiate a divorce if their husbands didn’t pour coffee for them. Today, this would be unheard of. But back then, coffee was an integral part of Turkish society. So much so that it was considered as “grounds” for divorce.
We can’t give detailed reasons why it was so, but the issue remains that it used to be very applicable but whether that still applies today, one can’t say.
