On June 29, 2020, Lionn Productions female trailblazer Kameni penned an Ambassadorial deal with financial institution – United Bank of Africa (UBA). This comes weeks after social media went wild when many protested about UBA using a foreign artist meanwhile there are other top-notch artists in the country that could be used for the purpose.
Among many online protesters, were upcoming artists who vowed to close or shutdown their accounts in this institution. While some of these artists protested, many others including the established ones remained mute.
However, UBA would make up with a virtual concert to battle COVID-19. The concert had Salatiel, Annie Anzouer, Kameni and Rinyu. Did you realize that no artist who aimed shots at the institution was selected? Just one week later, Kameni pens an ambassadorial deal with the financial powerhouse.
One thing to pick out from this is the fact that she deserves it for the hard work and consistency that she has employed since humbling herself under the umbrella of Lionn Productions.
It’s not just about the UBA deal, many other deals will still pop up in the long run and it must not be offered by UBA but other institutions need ambassadors and will always do. As an artist especially an upcoming, you need to avoid fighting companies and let the media do that job except other wise.
In an industry where there is little or no solidarity among artists, it is advisable that you look before you leap. The ones who have stayed quiet in such situations have always emerged as winners.
