With real names, Robert Nesta Marley, Bob Marley was a Jamaican singer, songwriter and musician. Considered one of the pioneers of reggae, his musical career was marked by fusing elements of reggae, ska, and rock steady, as well as his distinctive vocal and songwriting style. – Wikipedia.
Bob Marley inspired just generation after generation with his sound and inspiration. He is considered to have left too soon when he went to the grave with his inspiration in 1981. Marley was born in Jamaica, on February 6,1945 but died on May 11, 1981 (36 years). According to many publications, Marley‘s lasts words to his son were “Money can’t buy life“.
Marley was known for his deep revelations and transformation through his lyrics which still manifests today. One can become a hero overnight but not a legend. Legends continue to live on even after they depart the surface of the earth. Bob left an unquestionable legacy that has continued to expand from one generation to the other.
His legacy has however continued through his children who are keeping their father‘s name alive. His children are: Damian Marley, Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley, Cedella Marley, Rohan Marley.
Rumors have that he was shot and that let to his death, but that is not true. Yes, he was shot in the chest sometime in his career but he only died of melanoma (skin cancer) which he reportedly battled for four years and later gave up the ghost on May 11, 1981, which has since then been declared Bob Marley day.
