Yango started its journey in 2018 as a ride-hailing service in Côte d’Ivoire. What began as a simple idea to make moving around easier in one West African country has now grown into something much bigger. Today, Yango is no longer just a company that offers transport services. It has become a global technology brand that is active in over 30 countries across the world. This includes several countries in Africa such as Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia. Outside Africa, Yango also operates in countries like the United Arab Emirates, Peru, Bolivia, and Georgia.
The man leading this transformation is Daniil Shuleyko, the Chief Executive Officer of Yango Group. He says the company is no longer only focused on creating apps or simple digital services. Instead, Yango is now focused on building complete digital ecosystems. This means creating technology systems that connect many parts of daily life in one place. These systems can support transportation, food delivery, shopping, logistics, business development, and more. For Daniil Shuleyko, this is the future of technology in Africa. He believes that by building local ecosystems powered by smart technology, Yango can help millions of people improve their everyday lives.

This vision was clearly shared during the opening of Yango’s new regional office in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This new office is more than just a place to run operations. It has become the African headquarters of the company. For Yango, choosing Abidjan as its African base shows their strong commitment to growing across the continent. Daniil Shuleyko said during an interview with Forbes Afrique that this move is part of a long-term plan. He explained that Yango wants to support local economies and help African businesses grow using modern digital tools.
One of the ways Yango is doing this is by combining two key strategies. First, they use very advanced technology developed by global experts. Second, they adopt a hyperlocal approach. This means they study the local culture, economy, and challenges of each country they work in. By understanding the people and the environment, Yango can create services that truly match local needs. For example, what works in Cameroon may not work exactly the same way in Senegal or the UAE. That is why Yango adapts its digital tools to fit every location.
In Cameroon, Yango has already made an impact with its transport services. Riders in cities like Douala and Yaoundé now use Yango to book safe and affordable rides. The same system is being expanded into other areas like food delivery and logistics. Yango helps drivers, small business owners, and delivery workers earn income using their platform. These services also give customers more choices and better access to modern services.
What makes Yango different is the company’s belief in long-term growth. They are not just trying to make money quickly. Instead, they are investing in building strong networks and digital systems that will last for years. The goal is to help African cities become smarter, more connected, and more efficient.
Daniil Shuleyko says that Africa is full of potential. With a young population, fast-growing cities, and strong digital adoption, the continent is ready to leap into the future. Yango wants to be part of that leap by offering tools that support businesses, simplify everyday life, and connect people to the digital world. Whether it is transport, delivery, e-commerce, or fintech, Yango wants to offer more than just services. They want to offer a full digital experience.
As Yango continues to grow in Cameroon and other African countries, its journey shows how technology can be used to solve real-life problems. From traffic jams to small business struggles, Yango’s ecosystem approach is designed to offer real, local solutions powered by smart, global thinking.
