Ethiopia becomes the second African country after South Africa, to successfully unveil an electric vehicle, assembled in the African Country by Hundai Motors. The country’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said the electric car gift has come at a time when the government is working to transform the country’s greening and climate resilient aspirations to concrete actions through the Green Legacy Initiative. The Ethiopian Prime Minister tweeted,
“I received the first electric car fully set up in Ethiopia. No emission cars can help reduce pollution.”
The country has also reportedly planted close to 4 billion trees this year’s summer season ahead of plan targeting 5 billion trees in nationwide.
