Prior to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic which has affected over 190,000 people globally, France decided to invest 50 million Euros to tackle the disease. COVID-19 has killed 264 people to date in the country and France is now in it’s third day of a lock down to fight the spread of the disease. The country has suspended rent payments, including utility bills, gas, electricity and gas.

42 year old French President Emmanuel Macron, has again declared that his country will be investing €5.4 billion in artificial intelligence within the next decade. The French President on Thursday, March 19 spoke about the importance of scientific research and the need to invest in it for the long term.
“The Covid-19 crisis is a reminder of scientific research’s vital nature, and stresses the need to invest massively for the long term,” said French President Emmanuel Macron.
