Jon Jones takes out Ciryl Gane in two minutes to become the new UFC Heavyweight. After his win, Francis Ngannou congratulated Jones for his win against his former teammate Gane.
Jon Jones winning the UFC title has a lot of financial implications as rapper Drake who bet in favor of Jones winning was a big winner as Drake bet a whooping $500,000 on Jones knocking out his opponent.
In a statement, UFC President Dana White also confirmed that Francis Ngannou will never return to the UFC White said,
“It’s over, it’s over. He’ll never returned to the UFC… never say never but I can give you a never on that one.”
As a recap, Francis Ngannou and Dana White could not come to an agreement with the terms of Ngannou’s contract due to the alleged bad terms and conditions that would have come with renewing his contract.
This led to Ngannou refusing to renew his contract with the UFC Francis Ngannou was therefore stripped of his UFC Heavyweight Championship because to be the UFC heavyweight champ you need to be in the UFC.
