The African movie industry loses another icon as popular and veteran Nigerian actor Victor Olaotan, has been pronounced and confirmed dead by Nigerian media outlets. Olaotan who acted in the longest African series “Tinsel”, was involved in a ghastly car accident in 2016 while driving to a movie set in Lagos. This led to his health deteriorating drastically over time, and needing over $250,000 for a medical treatment.
Knowing how bad his condition was, Nigerian actors teamed up to raise this amount. Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo popularly known as RMD, later confirmed that business man and billionaire Femi Otedola had taken it upon himself to pay the actor’s huge medical bills after RMD had reached out to his billionaire friend to tell him about Olaotan’s condition.
Although the bills were paid, it did not save his life in the long run but kept him alive for a few extra years. After five years of battling for his life, his wife has revealed that the legend had been through so much and could now go to rest after he was confirmed dead. Born on February 17, 1952, the actor died on Thursday, August 26, 2021.
