Singer Toki Lala and Daphne Njie know how to get attention with more than just their talent. Both Central African entertainers have also developed their own sense of style, and their fashion choices have become part of how fans recognize them.
For artists, fashion can be another form of branding, and both women have shown that they aren’t afraid to experiment with their looks. Whether people love the outfits or have something to say about them, they know how to get people talking. This time, it’s their hat game that caught our attention.
Let’s start with Toki Lala, formerly known as Lala, Miss OK and Tokee Lala, who recently released her single “Real Love.” The singer has gone through several changes over the past two years, including rebranding herself musically and changing her stage name along the way.

Previously signed to U.S.-based record label BGC Melody, Toki is also an entrepreneur who owns a clothing boutique in Buea. Her connection to fashion isn’t new either. She has modeled for brands including Liiber London and has provided outfits for some of Cameroon’s well-known entertainers.
Toki has spent time between Cameroon and Ghana, and her style has continued to evolve along with her career. In this particular look, it’s the hat that brings everything together. Paired with the rest of her outfit, it adds a little attitude and gives the look that confident boss-lady feel without doing too much.
Then there’s Daphne Njie, who went for a completely different look in a colorful faux-fur coat topped with a pink beret. The coat already demands attention on its own, but the beret gives the outfit an extra touch of personality.

Rather than competing with the colorful coat, the pink beret pulls the look together and gives it a fun but polished finish. It’s bold, playful and definitely not an outfit designed to blend into the background.
Toki and Daphne may have completely different styles, but both looks prove one thing: sometimes the right hat isn’t just an accessory. It can be the finishing touch that makes the entire outfit work.
