Zari Hassan, also known as Zari the Boss Lady, is a South African-based Ugandan socialite, musician and actress. Zari owns multiple businesses in South Africa. She also manages the businesses left behind by her late South African husband, Ivan Ssemwanga, who died of a stroke in 2017.
She is the heir and CEO of Brooklyn City College (BCC), a South African-based diverse, progressive educational institute which she co-founded with her late husband Ivan Ssemwanga. BCC maintains their headquarters campus in Pretoria, with satellite campuses in Polokwane, Durban, Johannesburg, Nelspruit, Vereeniging and Rustenburg.
Zari has had three renown men in her life; her late husband who she left due to domestic violence claims, and Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz, who she broke up with due to several cheating allegations associated with Diamond. However, she and Diamond have been co-parenting their two children.
