The Ghanaian music industry is currently in chaos, as two of the country’s hottest Dancehall musicians: Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have reopened old wounds.
The beef between Shatta and StoneBwoy isn’t new, but they had since squashed their beef in 2019 after they were arrested on stage, the same year, taken to court for hearing but none of them pleaded guilty. This happened during the Vodafone Ghana awards, where they were stripped off their award wins that night following their disgraceful show of immature character on stage.
After reconciling, Shatta and StoneBwoy have been in their separate angles, doing their thing but years after, they are at loggerheads again.
What happened ?
According to the information we gathered, Shatta and Stonebwoy were supposed to perform at the just ended Sala Festival, which took place at Abeka, Ghana. Stonebwoy refused to perform on the same stage as Shatta, and the Shatta Music boss didn’t take it lightly when he mounted the stage. He spent significant time, raining insults on Stonebwoy for not wanting him to be on the same stage with him. In other words, StoneBwoy didn’t want Shatta to be paid according to Shatta.
Shatta even went overboard, calling Stonebwoy “disabled”. He promised to break stone’s legs if they ever meet. It didn’t end at the show. Shatta continued dragging Stonebwoy on Tiktok.
Stonebwoy granted an interview on radio while promoting his new song. He expressed his dissatisfaction with Shatta Wale. He revealed that Shatta wale accused him of “K!lling” his mother. He also implied in his outing on radio that Shatta can’t insult him in public, accusing him of taking his own mother’s life and simply sends him a text for them to make peace. He Says if Shatta wants peace, he must come appropriately and apologize.
They are both Dancehall artists who have been doing the most for the Ghanaian music industry and their previous beef saw Stonebwoy, take out a gun when Shatta interrupted his performance in 2019. Fans are hoping that this could be squashed with immediate effect, but it doesn’t look like it.
It’s even rumored that Stonebwoy’s recently released song titled “Ekelebe” featuring Odumodu Blvck, is a dig at Shatta.
What do you think ? Who’s to blame, Shatta or Stonebwoy?
