Cameroonian film director Kang Quintus, was one of the major absentees from this year’s Cameroon International Film Festival as he continues to hold that the festival doesn’t hold enough water to keep him coming back, hence he sees it as a waste of his precious time.
He hadn’t made any comments about the Festival since it started on the 22nd of April.
However, not being physically present didn’t mean his eyes weren’t looking in that direction. To prove that he was following up though in incognito mode, he immediately took to his facebook page to narrow down the festival to just a fashion show and not a film festival. This is what he had to say:
“At this point, it’s better to just change the name to the Cameroon International Fashion Festival (CAMIFF)” – Kang Quintus
In his opinion, instead of calling the festival Cameroon Film Festival, he suggests it should be called the Cameroon International Fashion Festival.
This comments are coming hours after his movie, “Nganú” which wasn’t screened in Buea this year, won two awards in Nigeria on Sunday April 28th.
What do you think about his opinion?
