Meet Tanzania’s First Female President

In the aftemath of the death of Tanzania’s President John Pombe Magufuli who was confirmed dead on March 17, 2024, the next in command, Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who has been the most noticeable figure, representing Tanzania, at all international meetings in the past five years is the country’s next president as she has been sworn in.

Hassan is set to become the first ever female president of the country and the first in the region of East Africa.
