2022 came with some beautiful projects from Cameroon, ranging from EPs to albums. On this list, we have four artist with music anyone can jive to and who have some of the most outstanding musical projects produced in any order.
1. AWU Acapero – “Sounds of Heritage”
With the aim to revive cultural relevance and strike a cultural balance, Cameroonian songwriter, singer and performer – Awu stepped it up with one of the most talked about projects of 2022
Titled “Sounds of Heritage” Awu displays his knowledge about the elite Cameroonian music genre – Makossa. He however brings a touch of modernism as he fuses it with some afro vibe, giving what he has named – kossafusion, which is a melage of makossa and other sounds.
Sounds of Heritage stands out among many other albums produced this year, not just because of its richness, but equally because of it’s cultural diversity and quality.
The album currently has 494,000 streams on Boomplay.

2. Tzy Panchak – “Love & War”
Another name in the game that doesn’t get enough credit as it should, is Tzy. The Blu Nation singer and “The Man of the People”, Tzy Panchak is seemingly cashing out from his talent nowadays.
Tzy’s album took a while to surface, but it was worth the wait. Known for his sexy and lovable persona, since coming to the spotlight, Tzy has been through it all; from darkness to light and we can admit that with his work rate, discipline and talent, he’s getting his flowers.
It is worth noting that the singer is currently doing a tour of his recently released album. An album which doesn’t really have any particularity as far as genres are concerned, but it’s a story of “Love & War”. Love and War talks about battles the artist has fought or still fights for love to prevail.
The album currently has 874,000 streams on Boomplay.

Kwata Music INC obviously has an “elephant in the room” and the room seems to be getting smaller by the day. Mic has been consistently part of the conversation for the past three years and it only gets better.
From dropping mind-blowing projects for the love of it, to going entirely commercial, Mic Monsta has been a motivation to a new generation of artists in Cameroon. Having uniqueness in his muscularity, personality and public relations could easily explain why the “Stars Are Watching ” and will continue to watch.
Being Mic’s third studio album, it paints a relatable story of one coming from an environment where no one believed in him or in his abilities to become successful, to becoming a new inspiration and the leader of the new wave. With the degree of progress he has made in his career thus far, and the hands he’s holding inclusive, why wouldn’t the stars be watching?
