In the last week or so, Yaounde as well as other parts of Cameroon such as Limbe, Buea to name a few have been experiencing heavy rainfalls that have been persistent to the point where parts of downtown Yaounde around Avenue Kennedy was seen to have been flooded badly. As you can see from the photo’s that were circulating around Facebook, cars we almost fully covered by water and on lookers could do nothing but stand and watch this unfortunate situation!
How could this happen though? Many have said that the sewage system in Yaounde is not developed enough to support such heavy rainfalls. Then what will happen when there is a major storm where it can rain for days non-stop? It;s a shame that the heart of the Capitol of Cameroon suffers from this state in 2018. But then again Cameroon is what Donald Trump called a “shit hole” country right? Sometimes, one has to wonder how accurate is this is.
