It is considered the “world’s number one beach festival“ and it will last for four days in the Caribbean paradise. So far, only the list of the headline artists have been announced, so expect many more to be added to the list and showcase a variety of artistic skill and overall dopeness coming from Africa and the diaspora.
The first star performers and headliners have been disclosed and include Beenie Man, Burna Boy, Davido, Afro B, Busiswa, Patoranking, Chronixx, 2Baba, Kranium, Patrice Roberts, Rotimi, Shenseea, Stonebwoy, Teni and The Compozers.
There should be of no surprise as to why Nigerian superstars are leading the way. The likes of Burna Boy, Davido, Patoranking have all proven themselves as Africa’s undisputed A-listers and they keep proving their talent on an international level. Davido alone has shown that he has international appeal and as a result, has had his fair share of his music getting a reasonable amount of airtime on American radio stations in the US this year.
We will have to wait for the subsequent list to know the next set of African artists to be revealed. Their flyer displays a variety of styles from afrobeats to dancehall, reggae to rap and R&B to experimental. It is the first global traveling festival of its kind focusing on “#BlackExcellence and good vibes,” according to their press release.
