Don Jazzy has stepped down as the president of his record Label – Mavin Records Global. Here’s his successor.
One of, if not, Africa’s biggest music executives, Collins Ajere aka Don Jazzy has passed on the presidential mantle of his parent company – Mavin Records Global to his Chief Operations Officer (COO) Tega Oghenejobo.
Tega, who has been besides Don Jazzy since the founding of the record Label in 2012, has been loyal and continuously learning the business. His curiosity and steadfastness, saw him take on the role of Chief Operations Officer in 2019. Five years later, he has been named president of the prestigious structure.
On October 29th, Don Jazzy took to his social media handles to break the news to his followers.
“I’m proud to announce TEGA MAVIN expanded role as President and COO of Mavin. I am often praised for being able to spot and raise superstars, but I can proudly say the most genius thing I have done in my life was being able to spot the passion and resilience in Tega” – Don Jazzy praised Tega.
His appointment into this position, didn’t come overnight as Don Jazzy talks about his growth and dedication all along.
“From the early days, I’ve watched him be curious about the business, build teams, develop executives, and ensure our talents have sustainable careers from the start. His commitment to growing Mavin and shaping the future of African music has been relentless, and I’m confident that with him in this role, we’ll continue to break new ground and achieve even bigger milestones for our artists and company,” he added.
It’s unclear what Don Jazzy is up to, but we’re very certain that he’s working on something huge on the sides. Congratulations to Tega.
