The saga between Mercy Chinwo and Eezee Tee, the founder of Eezee Conceptz Ltd, a popular Nigerian gospel record Label, which signed Mercy in 2017, continues…
According to new revelations by the CEO, he was forcefully detained by the Ecomomic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria thanks to one of his artists Mercy Chinwo and her team.
The Record Label and the artist parted ways years ago, but the record label is being subjected by the artist to hand over her music catalog which was produced by the Label under a 50/50 agreement given that the artist signed a 360⁰ deal.
Eezee Tee, explains that the Record Label sent an email to the artist demanding that a meeting should be held to sort out their royalty issues, an email that was reportedly snubbed by the artist.
Eezee Tee says the artist together with the EFCC “forcefully” made him to transfer a sum of $274,000 to Chinwo after they’d lured him to Illorin, Nigeria, where they forced him to give/write a statement which favored the artist.
In addition, Eezee Tee, has explained that after making him pay the aforementioned amount, they went further to demand that he hands the artist’s catalog to her. This is what he didn’t agree with.
“What do you expect from someone who can make her voice like that of a child ? She’s a very good actor and manipulator” – Eezee Tee on Mercy Chinwo
He also mentioned that he was detained for Nine days and was only released when accepted to illegally pay $274,000
“When I got to EFCC, I was told not write my truth, that all they deal with is figures and I said we can’t talk about money without talking about what gave birth to the money. We’re talking about a contract and money was invested in this artist and it generated some money” – Eezee Tee added.
