On Friday June 24th 2016, the last remaining steps for Africa’s FIFA World Cup contenders were laid out after the draw for the continent’s third round of Russia 2018 qualifiers took place in Egypt.
The event which held at CAF’s Cairo headquarters, placed the 20 African teams still in contention, into five 4-team groups. The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, were placed against Algeria, Nigeria and Zambia in Group B. This is a tough one for the Cameroonian team, as all other 3 teams are among the continent’s best.
According to FIFA, The 20 teams will play each other home; and away on a round-robin basis, with all five group winners qualifying automatically for Russia 2018. Matches will take place between October 2016 and November 2017. Check out the Draw Results below
